Cover Kid Q&A – ON THE COVER: SOREN McCLELLAND

Soren McClelland

Soren is a 10-year-old fifth grader at Atalaya Elementary who loves hockey, gaming, and rollerblading. A proud Santa Fe Capitals player, he enjoys math, solving problems, and being kind. He loves the Santa Fe Plaza, the Children’s Museum, pug videos, looks up to his dad, and hopes to try rock climbing this year.

What are your favorite things to do for fun?

Soren: Gaming and rollerblading in my free time. I also like hockey and started when I was six. I play for the Capitals for the Santa Fe Hockey Association, and my dad is a head coach.

Do you have a favorite place to go or thing to do in New Mexico? Tell us about it.

Soren: I like visiting the Santa Fe Plaza. It is historic, and is a fun place to hang out. I also love the Children’s Museum.

Who is someone you look up to, and why?

Soren: I look up to my dad. Because he is talented and a good person.

What makes you laugh or smile the most?

Soren: Funny pug videos. I am obsessed with pugs.

If you could plan the perfect day with your family, what would you do?

Soren: We would all have breakfast together and then leave on a trip outside the U.S.

Is there anything else you’d like Tumbleweeds readers to know about you or your family?

Soren: I am an only child, but have three dogs that keep me company. I was born in Fort Lauderdale. My mom is from Santa Fe, and my dad is from Pittsburgh.
